History of Holley
Holley haves a long history that goes back to the late 1800s when the brothers George and Earl Holley began their business: the Holley Motor Company was a fact. IN 1903 they entered the carburetor business (they were urged by Henry Ford) and it was soon before they were industry leaders in fuel system technology. 100 years later they are still one of four suppliers that is still with Ford. Through the years Holley Motor Company became bigger and bigger, in the WWI and WWII they have been supplying military vehicles, plains and ships with carburetors. In the 40's the brothers Holley expanded their business by supply repair parts to garages and service stations. In the 50's they made the first 4 barrel carburetor on the world. This carburetor was introduced to the public on the 1957 T-Bird and became standard equipment for high performance vehicles.
The 1960's were huge for the hot rod industry and also for Holley. All powered cars had Holley carburetors and in this era it was that Holley and muscle cars became inextricable. Holley launched it's American idol the Holley Double Pumper and in 1968 they produced the Holley Dominator for NASCAR Racing. In the 70's the fame of Holley kept on growing, they made name with the NHRA Super Stock/Pro Stock racers, like all drag racers, who were and are inextricable with the brand name. In the early 1970's they introduced the world famous Holley electric fuel pump and later on they produced the aluminum intake manifolds.
In the 1980's they introduced the original equipment EFI components and analog pro-jection retro fit fuel injection systems for carburated cars. In the 90's they kept producing and innovating carburetors and they still do. They are the uncontested number 1 in the industry.
